1000 Hills Tourism South Africa

Paw Prints Rescue can now benefit from all the advantages of being a member of The 1000 Hills Community Tourism Organsation
Welcome to the Valley of a 1000 Hills https://www.1000hillstourism.co.za/
“The Valley of 1 000 Hills is a place where the true and untainted beauty of Africa is celebrated in its scenery, animals, culture, history, and the vibe that infuses this part of KwaZulu-Natal”
This hidden paradise lies between Pietermaritzburg and Durban, and called such for the repeatedly folded hills that tumble down and rise up again from the banks of the mightly Umgeni River as it flows from the distant Drakensberg Mountains to the warm and beautiful Indian Ocean.
The Valley of a 1000 Hills has to be your next destination of choice when visiting KwaZulu-Natal.
1000 Hills Tourism South Africa – Thank you so much for letting become part of this amazing community.

Cindy and The Robin Hood Foundation

Many people know our struggle with our wash load, we needed a new washing machine desperately and we could never afford one. Our machine is on all day, it needed to be strong, and capable and very reliable.
How do we ever thank you Cindy and The Robin Hood Foundation for donating this beautiful washing machine to us?
We honestly are beyond grateful to you. This is huge for us and makes our lives so much easier and of course the dogs in our care must have clean blankets and bedding.
Sam and Londy, two of our amazing staff members, are giddy with happiness and so excited.

Empowering our Staff

Our staff are our family and we want to help them grow, we encourage them and we support them.
We will always help them be better because they deserve it and they give so much back.

We are delighted to be helping Eithan get his license.

Angus Towsen from Torga Optical in Watercrest Mall, we so grateful to you, this is the first step in getting Eithan his license.
23rd August, in Richmond, he passed first time, but we knew he would.
Michelle from Des Jenkin Driving School is teaching him and giving him lessons.
Eithan we so happy we can help you and I know we ALL excited for you, this will open so many doors for you.

Khula Vet Outreach

Thank you so much to Charlotte from Khula Vet, for spending the morning with us, we had such an amazing group of vet students come to the shelter on Friday.

By the end of the year they will be qualified vets. How amazing and what a lovely bunch of people.

Of course we had a ton of questions, and they showed us how to do CPR on a puppy, what to do if a dog is choking, how to check a pulse etc, what to look out for in puppies and how to keep them and our adult dogs strong and healthy. They spoke about common diseases and what the staff need to look for, and of course just the general wellbeing/care of the dogs and puppies.
We really appreciate you and what you doing. We know that in the future this amazing team will be changing so many lives when they are qualified.

This is one of the easiest ways to support us, simply go online and PLEASE add Paw Prints Rescue and Rehoming as one of your beneficiaries 👏👏
It takes less than two minutes to do, and won’t cost you a cent.

Leo is still Waiting For a Family

When Leo came to us on the 13th of June everyone fell in love with him.
Three months later you wouldn’t recognize him… and can you believe, not one person has enquired about him.
He had been found terrified and sick on the streets of Durban a few days earlier tied to a pole with a piece of wire.
He is about 9 / 10 years old. He would prefer a quiet life with an older social happy female doggy.
He’s obviously had a hard life, he has few teeth and is just a sweet gentle boy who craves love. Please help us find a home for him by sharing his story on our Facebook Page.

Schools

On Monday, 14th of August we went to visit Winston Park Primary School
We love having the kids from various schools visit us, especially when we have been to visit the school.
On the 24th of August, we went to Westville Pre-Primary School where we met the excited children with puppies.
We love visiting schools and the puppies adore being cuddled and getting snuggles by the teachers and kids.

On the 29th of August, we went to visit Roseway Waldorf School. We had so much fun this morning, thank you so much to Roseway Waldorf School for having us visit. Our puppies loved all the attention (and singing along in assembly)

Our Beautiful Mommy dogs

Truffles came to us in the beginning of April. She found a safe place at Newlands West Rehab Centre, where she gave birth to a litter of 9 puppies under their watchful eye. Two kind gentlemen reached out to us for help, and we took her in. We would love to find beautiful Truffles a home. She is just under two years old, adores other dogs and loves people of all ages (especially children) – she is a gentle sweet blond girl and would love to live with you. She is a little medium mixed breed.

Ivy came to us Mid June with her 8 babies. We would love to find this sweet little tan girl a home, she loves people of all ages and is great with dogs, she is just an amazing girl and would be perfect for any family.  She is great with kids. She is about 2 years old.

Tia came to us mid August. Is a beautiful foxy little girl cross mix. She’s small, fits perfectly into your lap. She had her babies in the street and came in from another rescue. She is ready to find a family, she adores people, especially kids and is fine with other dogs.  She would love to play ball and chase and just have fun. She would love to find a home where she can cuddle up and go for nice walks. As she was a stray she’s desperate for a family who can show her that there are people who care and love her. This little girl is not even 2 years old.

Not yet ready for a home as they are still nursing

Maisie came to us on the 5th of September after being rescued from a group of kids abusing her and threatening to eat her. Maisie popped out six gorgeous little babies two day’s later. Please keep an eye on her journey with us. She is the sweetest mom and adores people visiting.

Sadie came to us on the 6th of September with her 3 day old pups. She was so scared but we are confident she will come out of her shell while she is with us. She arrived with tail between her legs, and barely lifts her head up  but we’ll take good care of her and her five puppies until they are old enough to be adopted. Please keep an eye on her journey with us.

Cuddles came to us on the 20th of August along with her 1 week old pups. Cuddles looks like she will be a gorgeous Labby but right now she is skinny and undernourished. Please keep an eye on her journey with us, and if you think you can offer her a retirement home when she is ready, we would love to hear from you. She had five beautiful babies.
