🥳🎄🎁It is that time of the year again folks, Grade 12s are frazzled for final exams, weekend beach visits and sunshine are the order of the day, and Christmas decorations are flooding the stores!🎅🏼🎄🎁 There is a certain palpable excitement building as the work and school year start winding down. The year has flashed past again and we are all left wondering how we didn’t get “that” done, or how the weeks and months went by so quickly! It is the same for us at Paw Prints, as we feel the weight of the year and so many little lives that have come through our doors, bear down upon us, and always wonder “have we done enough”?
While November brings excitement and joy the world over, we begin to get quiet at Paw Prints. Our visitors go on holiday, our adoptions slow down and sadly, our doggy resident numbers start to climb. The festive season lurks for us, bringing challenges and worries, rather than joy and festivity. This is not a plea for sympathy, but an honest reflection of what happens at our center during the Christmas holiday period.
However, a most exciting thing has happened at our center this month which is making our hearts all aflutter for the holidays!! 🤩🤩🤩 Our gorgeous new Mutt Motel is almost ready for boarders! 🤩🤩🤩 This has been a long overdue fulfillment of the Paw Prints dream and we could not ask for a more wonderful way to enter this season. Our cabins will be ready for your lovely pooches’ visits in December, while you holiday with peace of mind knowing your best friends are safe in our care. This is so exciting for us, as it is one more step forward to becoming a self sustaining rescue, generating funds for our center at the most critical times!🥳👏🏻
A massive thank you goes out to Hendok Group for the fencing and to Talisman Hire Pinetown/Durban South/Hillcrest/Rossburgh for assisting us with leveling the land. You are all amazing and you’ve helped us take a huge step forward for our rescues! It is going to be truly wonderful and we really can’t wait!
🍬🎃👻We sent October packing with a gorgeous Halloween weekend at the Ballito Halloween Horrors event!! We all got dressed up, the kids had a blast with all the spooky games and EVERYONE had way too much sugar!!! This is by far one of our favourite events in the Paw Prints calendar! So much work goes into setting up and creating a scary, magical day, and every year just gets bigger and better. The visitors go all out taking part in the dress up competition, playing games and bringing the Halloween heebie-jeebies, laughter and fun! Thank you so much to every single person who stopped by, got involved and sent us home to our rescue dogs with happy (if slightly weaker 🫣😅) hearts! Your support means the world to us and our pooches!🧡🧡🧡 We can’t wait to see you all again next year!
With school holidays fast approaching you might be wanting your kids to take part in some fun Christmas holiday activities. We have just the thing for you!! 🎉👏🏻 Next month is our very popular Holiday Club for 7 – 12 year olds, and spots fill up FAST!! We will be running December Holiday Club on the 17th, 18th and 19th December, so contact the office to book and keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates!
